My Web development career began in 1996 when I was in graduate school seeking my Masters degree in Educational Technology at the University of South Carolina. I had a grad-assistant job during that time as the Webmaster for the USC College of Education. My job was to redesign, rebuild, and maintain the college's Web presence and to conduct personal tutoring sessions with all interested college faculty members to show them how to update their own Websites.

Renaissance Interactive (now defunct) hired me in 1997. Renaissance was a large regional Web development company based in Columbia, South Carolina. At its height Renaissance had more than 100 employees and venture capital funding to the tune of $15 million. We developed sites for some quite large companies such as Wachovia Bank and Siemens. My job at Renaissance was to use a graphic designer's Photoshop files and a client's content to create a top quality Website and then train 1 or more of the client's employees to edit and manage the site. I did that for approximately 3 years.

I started OutFront in 1998 as a hobby. It was a support site for do-it-youself Webmasters at that time. I was able to leave Renaissance to go full-time with OutFront 2 years later. It was then that I convinced my wife Bonnie to take some graphic design courses. She was always very artistic and quite computer literate. I knew she would do well, but I had no idea how well at the time. Since then, Bonnie and I have collaborated on over 600 web design projects. OutFront began leasing servers in top quality data centers and offering hosting service in 2003. We now host over 800 sites. Our growth is steady but not so fast that we're encountering any difficulties in providing service to our customers.

There are no plans to turn OutFront into a large organization. We are a mom and pop shop for the new millennium. We give personal attention to each customer. We have helped a lot of people create successful web projects, and we have very much enjoyed getting to know people from all over the world. We would like to get to know you too. :)

I am a working mother who appreciates time restraints, stressful situations, and joyous outcomes. As the mother ot two boys in different universities, a daughter in high school, with the responsibilities of running a small business, I understand the concept of value all too well.

Value of business identity

Today, the world is flying at an unprecedented pace...or so it seems. People come and go, businesses come and go, and often times, small businesses get lost somewhere. They struggle to maintain their identity in the effort to just - maintain. It is crucial in this time that our identities be stable, be strong, and survive. One of my jobs is to help you do just that. Maintain your identity. I do this through design. I am crafty and clever and most importantly, I listen to you. I hear you and react to you in order to provide the best design for your business possible. Over the past 10 years, I have honed my graphic design skills to the point that I can deliver most any design you aspire to see. Your identity, your image, is my business; and your job is the most important to me right now.

Value of time

Life is surging by, children are growing up way too fast, computers must work faster, technology must be smarter, houses must be bigger, cars must go faster, information needs to come up RIGHT NOW or we will just go into a panic. Breath.... We are people here. We have real lives and with this, we value life and precious time. We typically work on a first-in- first-out basis, but if you have a deadline, let us know. As humans that actually care about your project, we can work with you and get your project done...in time, on time, and within budget. Don't worry, just breath in and out. We'll take care of the rest.

Value of integrity

Integrity is a powerful word that has great value to me personally. I was raised in the South by a farmer and a school bookkeeper in a small town. Hard work and honesty were as much a part of my upbringing as church and school. I was raised to "do what you say you are going to do every time, and do it when you say you are going to do it... with no excuses," and "don't just leave something like you found it, leave it better than you found it." I can hear those words echo in my head still...every day.

We will not lead you astray. We may not have all of the answers, but you can rest assured, we will not dazzle you with any discussion of tasks that we cannot perform. If we offer it, we mean it, we'll deliver it.

Value of money

It's tough today. Going to the grocery story to feed my family is almost frightening. With two in college and another heading there before I know it, I appreciate the value of a dollar, not just for today, but for tomorrow. We are a small business. We are blessed to have the luxury of working from home. It affords us the opportunity to pass this savings onto our customers, namely you. We offer fair pricing with luxurious customer service. We want you to succeed. We have served over 1000 customers and I bet I know each project and would recognize many voices over the phone. Our customers are much more to us than just a project. They are people with lives who have a need that we fulfill. They are all business people who work hard to provide for their families and we appreciate that. We appreciate the opportunity to provide a high-quality service at a fair price.

As a business that operates from a home, you might hear a dog bark in the background sometimes or a child's laughter, but you will also hear "How may I help you?" and "I'm looking forward to working with you".  You might even hear me give up my Saturday off to get your project "live" by a Monday deadline for a special event.  That's how we work.  That's how we value time and your business.  That's how we value money.
